Week 8

A game in London that ended in a tie, two overtime wins, disappointments, heartbreaks, and more all sum up Week 8 of Sunday football.

In the NFL.com league, I am doing very poorly. My record is now 2-5. This week I took a major risk and decided to start Blake Bortles of the Jacksonville Jaguars for Thursday night football. The risk paid off, as he ended up scoring 29 points (most of which came in the second half of the football game).  This week I also had to pick up two second string running backs off the waiver wire to fill in for their first string counterparts.  Both of these pick ups netted me 24 points total, which I can't be too mad at, considering they aren't first stringers.  Two key players that I was banking on (the Cardinals Defense and Greg Olson) ended up scoring me a whopping 2.1 points.  Needless to say, this was another disappointing week for me because my team lost 97 - 100, bringing my season record to a league worst, 2 - 6.

In the ESPN.com league, I am fairing a lot better. My record is 4-3. Last week's lost broke my three game win streak.  This week I decided to believe in Russell Wilson, because he was playing against a terrible Saint's defense. That belief ended in regret. I played Russell Wilson, who scored me 9 points and benched Carson Palmer who scored 22 points. If I had played Carson Palmer, I would be heading into Monday night with the lead.  I am currently losing 77 - 82. Thankfully, I am still in it because I have Minnesota Viking's wide receiver Stephon Diggs playing for my team tomorrow night. However, my opponent does have Minnesota's kicker Blair Walsh playing as well. Hopefully tomorrow night, things to my way and I can finish the week out with the W.

Week 6

The Steelers get blown out by the Dolphins, Colin Kaepernick gets his first start of the season, Ezekiel Elliot has his fourth consecutive 100+ yard game, and the defending NFC Champs drop to 1-5. This and more happened in a crazy week 6 of the NFL.

This week the for the team that I manage on NFL.com, I got Carson Palmer back!  He cleared the concussion protocol and is slated to play on Monday night.  The running back on my team, LeSean McCoy, had a monster day, running for 140 yards and scoring me three touchdowns, which resulted in 32.20 points!  I'm thankful for this because both of my receivers, and my flex player all scored under six points today, so any help I could get was welcomed.  Currently, I am losing 77.20 - 105.26 as we head into Monday night. Thankfully, I haven't lost yet because I still have Carson Palmer and the Arizona Cardinals defense left to play.

This week for the team that I manage on ESPN.com, I had another hot start.  I picked up running back Jonathan Stewart off of the waiver wire and started him.  He along with Odell Beckham Jr. scored a combined 52.7 points, over half of my current total points!  As we head into Monday night, I am currently winning by a score of 96.5 - 67.5.  I still have Carson Palmer left to play, but my opponent has Brandon Marshall and the Arizona Cardinals defense left. Although, it's looking like I'll take the victory, yet again, in fantasy you can never be too sure.

Week 5

Week 5 of the NFL has arrived and it did not disappoint. Brady. Is. BACK! Sadly, I didn't have him on either of my teams! I currently am managing two leagues- one ten-man league on NFL.com and an eight-man league on espn.com.

The team I manage on NFL.com consists of QB: Carson Palmer, RB: LeSean McCoy, RB: Jordan Howard, WR: Jordy Nelson, WR: Allen Robinson, TE: Greg Olsen, W/R: Deandre Washington, K: Justin Tucker, and the Arizona Cardinals Defense rounds out my starting lineup. My bench consists of QB: Blake Bortles, RB: Spencer Ware, WR: Terrelle Pryor, WR: Steve Smith, and WR: Allen Hurns. This week was a little bit stressful because Carson Palmer, my starting quarterback, was out this week due to a concussion that he suffered last week. Normally, this would be okay because I have a backup quarterback, in Blake Bortles, that I can promote to a starter. However, Blake's team has a bye this week, which meant that I had to pick up a quarterback off of the waiver wire- which is the place where players can be picked up because they aren't currently on anyone else's fantasy team.  With Eli Manning being the best option on the waiver, I reluctantly started him. Let me just say...I got blown out this week. I ended up losing by a score of 135.48 - 85.06. Although I still have one more player left to play tomorrow night, on Monday Night Football, there is no chance of me winning.  My record on the season drops to 2-3.

On a lighter note, the team I manage on Espn.com consists of QB: Carson Palmer, RB: Devonta Freeman, RB: Melvin Gordon, WR: Emmanuel Sanders, WR: Odell Beckham Jr., TE: Greg Olsen, W/R: LeGarrette Blount, K: Blair Walsh, and DEF: Denver Broncos. My bench includes WR: Steve Smith, RB: Jamaal Charles, WR: Eric Decker, QB: Russell Wilson, RB: Doug Martin, and WR: Stefon Diggs. Like the NFL league, I was without Carson Palmer, and Russell Wilson had a bye as well, so I wasn't able to start him. Heading to the waiver wire, I ended up picking up Philip Rivers, of the San Diego Chargers. And boy did it pay off. Although they lost the game, and despite throwing two interceptions, Rivers went on to throw for 359 yards and 4 touchdowns, bringing his total points to 26.4 giving me a nice 96.7 - 74.3 lead going into Monday night.  Although I have a 20 point lead my opponent still has one receiver set to play in tomorrow's game, but so do I. I feel as though I have this one in the bag, but with fantasy, you can never be too sure.
